Bottom of the cycle

On the ground, a large puddle or small pond. In the sky, fluffy, faceless clouds passing. The puddle/pond thinks, "I miss it, but I can't seem to get back to it."

Sondage

 

Grambo stands at the bottom of a body of water deep enough to be quite dark. A fish swims by overhead and a pale crab looks up at Grambo. Grambo thinks, "This puddle might be too deep." The crab thinks, "This puddle might not be deep enough."

Make an observation

 

Blue Guy has taken the form of a puddle with a serene, happy face. Red Guy looks down and says, "How perfectly tranquil?" Blue Guy says, "Make an observation". Red Guy extends an arm from the top of their head and pokes the surface of the Blue Guy puddle, which makes ripples and a PLOIP sound. Red Guy announces, "How perfectly tranquil!"

How do you know

In continuation from yesterday's comic, Grambo addresses the person who fell out of the sky with a shovel and immediately tried to dig a hole in the body of water in which both characters stand: "How do you know you have to get out of here?" (The other holds their shovel and frowns at it.) "For the record, this is one of my favorite places in the world. An ephemeral pond."

Transformative juice

 

Panel 1 of 3: a hand holds a bottle. The label reads "Juice that turns you into a puddle". Panel 2 of 3: A stick figure tips the holds the bottle with a blank expression and thinks, "Marketing has gotten so weird." Panel 3 of 3: The figure tips back the bottle and drinks deeply. Reflection reflected

A person looks at their reflection in a puddle. "Is that really what I look like?" they ask, appearing a little disappointed or distraught. The reflection, or perhaps the puddle itself, says, "No, you don't seem nearly so wet."

 

No, I don't know where Grambo went. We're not panicking yet, but please let us know of any possible sightings.

Ah, yes...

 

Grambo's young friend stands behind him and says, "Grambo, I'm dying to know—what's the deal with you and puddles? Is it the ephemerality? Reflectivity? A fond memory? What am I missing?" Grambo, sitting in a puddle and leaning back contentedly, says, "Ah, yes, I remember puddles..."

A very round stick figure crouches oddly on a lumpy protuberance of land next to a pond, pointing at Grambo who is sitting in the pond, and says, "You're not from around here, are you?" Grambo holds his chin thoughtfully and says, "No, I think I'm from a pointier here."

Can you believe this guy?

 

Grambo looks up at some churlish clouds and asks them, "Do you take requests? Because some puddle would really hit the spot." Elsewhere in the sky, a bird clings to the end of a kite string as a strong wind pulls the kite and the bird.

Identity and actions

Grambo (a stick figure with a pointy curling chin or perhaps poorly delineated beard) sits in a puddle, specifically the person who was turning into a puddle in yesterday's comic, with only the top of its formerly human head not yet fully puddle-ified and a half-melted face below that. The puddle says, "You're sitting on me." Grambo turns slightly and says, "No, I'm Grambo."

Same direction

Top text, not contained by a speech bubble, diegetic origins unclear: "Is Grambo following that duck?" Grambo, a stick figure with an upward curling chin or perhaps poorly delineated beard, walks a few paces behind a worried-looking duck. The duck turns its head to look behind itself and asks Grambo, "*Are* you following me?" Grambo replies, "Oh. I think we're just going the same way. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."

Straight from an incoherent late-night drafting session (but with illegible scrawl turned to somewhat legible lettering typeface for your convenience).
