Mentally unfit to stand trial

Mental Health
Falling through the air, he felt like a worm on a hook. He could hardly concentrate while the immensity of earth rushed up to meet him, but still tried in vain to think of what the fish was in that comparison. Also he tried not to imagine how it would feel if the parachute didn't open, but as with anything he tried not to imagine, the thought took control and he saw himself experiencing remarkably creative and very gory deaths over and over until the chute did open, at which point Chris began to worry about whether or not the getaway car would be there waiting for him.

Squandered Talents

Mental Health
Occasionally, Chad would swing from his usual cautiously optimistic state to one that could only be described as recklessly pessimistic. During such moments he would stockpile weapons and supplies and prepare for the worst before returning to normal, usually after only a few days.

Some things we would rather not have known

Mental Health
The secret so closely held by our secret society is that we are not a secret society. We go to tremendous lengths to appear as though we are holding clandestine meetings and trading ineffable information with friends in high places. We attempt to leave circumstantial evidence that we have erased our own non-existent tracks.

So can I come back in the house, now?

Every time we look out the window, there he is

Mental Health
Disappointed at the lack of concrete evidence in the raided house, Inspector Guillermo stopped by the neighbors' homes and asked forlornly if he might be permitted to rummage through their affairs and pretend, strictly for his own satisfaction, that he was solving mysteries.

Once you get to know him, he's a nice guy

Mental Health
Ralph had long since lost count of his otter pop consumption, and the powerful union of icy sugar and food coloring invading his bloodstream left him unable to number the vast expanse of empty plastic shells littering the couch and the floor and his own lap. He had adopted a slouch from which the only escape would be to slowly collapse to the floor. Then he would dream of otter pops, and be convinced as he dreamed that he was eating them still-- but upon awaking, he would find that his mouth was full of carpet fuzz and that in the meantime his blood sugar had taken a nose dive.
