Just stay alive

In black and white. Red Guy, currently in the form of a sort of flattened ovoid blob, says, "Why do we struggle so to survive? What motivates us?" Blue Guy, a spiky ball, answers with gritted teeth: "Spite, mostly."

I do not claim it will get better—though for all I know, it might—only that there are good reasons to remain. / This is not a sentiment original to me and has quite likely been said before, but it's what's on my mind so here it is in comics form. / I'm not saying this is the *last* Red Guy & Blue Guy, but I'm feeling like it's time for something different, TBD.

A collection

Two people are seen from behind, standing before an array of shelves. One person gestures at the contents of the shelves and the other holds a glass of pale brown liquid. On the lower shelves are books, a couple bottles with labels "Antifascist Juice" and the Antifascist logo of three downward left-pointing arrows, and a light cavalry sword accompanied by a plaque inscribed with the letters "WWJBD" (which stands for "What Would John Brown Do?"). The upper shelves hold various skulls, each of which is oddly shaped in some way; one has two lobes at the top reminiscent of a pair of buttocks, another has very close-set eye sockets and elongated canine teeth. The bottom caption reads, "You like 'em? Phrenologist skulls. Hunted 'em down myself." Some of the book spines are only partially legible, but here's as complete a description as I can offer, with titles separated by commas: Victory to Ukraine, The Conquest of Bread (real book & recommended reading), Rojava, Darfur, HC / HR, 1312, Rest in Piss Kissinger, Zero Billionaires, Prosecute J6 GOP, Solidarity, Abolition Everywhere, Land Back, No Excuse for Genocide, Freedom [in Arabic], BSD, Free Palestine, Antizionism is NOT Antisemitism. There could have been many other deserving causes and real books represented here, I know. Forgive me my many omissions; this was all off the top of my head.
Dangerously wrong ideas, yes, but not particularly dangerous game.

Sanctions

Two parents stand facing a child. One parents wears glasses and has a supportive arm over the other's shoulder; the other has a high ponytail and folded arms. On the floor in front of the child is a hammer and several nails, most of which are haphazardly driven into the floor. The ponytail parent says, "The Parental League hereby informs you that sanctions on your behavior will begin with a TV embargo and may escalate to suspension of financial aid." The child, frustrated, says, "This paternalistic attitude is... oh, right."

(This is more of a re-run than a remake (though I added a little detail and cleaned up a couple errant lines from the original), but listen. I had to keep Glasses Dad as-is. I can't explain it but maybe you will understand.)

Ready for retraction

This is an old draft from January and is not a direct reference to anyone in particular. Just, you know, dozens and dozens of essentially interchangeable (and fully poseable!) individuals who got caught enough that they had to pretend to apologize.

Also, drawing this one reminded me how terrible it is to attempt to draw actual hands. What a baffling mess the human hand is.

Cretaceous political systems

To be fair, it is difficult to reconstruct political systems from the fossil record.
